Plan to Attend Mass Meetings on February 18th
This spring, Republicans will have their county, district and state conventions, along with precinct mass meetings. This post is a guide on what to expect.
Precinct Mass Meetings
Precinct mass meetings will be held on February 18th, 2012, beginning at 10 AM, sharp. Registration opens at 9 AM, and prospective attendees are encouraged to arrive early in order to be seated by the beginning of the mass meetings. In Gwinnett County, we’ll hold combined mass meetings for all precincts at Collins Hill High School, 50 Taylor Road in Suwanee.

Notification of County Committee Meeting TIme and Location Change
Because of our Kickoff Rally on January 12th, we are adjusting the time and location of the January County Committee meeting originally scheduled at 7:30 PM at Gwinnett GOP Headquarters.
The January County Committee meeting will be held at 7 PM on Thursday, January 12th at 550 Trackside, 550 North Clayton Street, Lawrenceville, Georgia. Doors will open at 6:30 PM.
Remember, you must have paid your 2012 dues in order to be able to vote at the County Committee meeting.

Economic Development is the Focus of our January Breakfast
More than three years after the economy went into a tailspin, employment still hasn’t returned to where it was, and job creation remains a prime concern. At our January 7th breakfast, we’ll explore what is being done in the area of job growth and economic development, both statewide and here in Gwinnett.
Our guest speakers are Rep. David Casas of Lilburn, who serves on the House Economic Development and Tourism Committee, and Nick Masino, Vice-President of Economic Development & Partnership Gwinnett at the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce.

Start the Election Year with Our 2012 Campaign Kickoff Rally
2012 is going to be an important election year, and the Gwinnett GOP is ready. You can get an early look at the candidates and campaigns at our 2012 Campaign Kickoff Rally on Thursday, January 12th beginning at 7:30 PM. Congressmen Rob Woodall and Paul Broun are attending, along with other candidates and elected officials, plus as a special guest, we’ll have Congressman Joe Wilson of South Carolina. You may remember Rep. Wilson for his “You Lie” comment during a September, 2009 speech by President Obama on the healthcare bill.

Southwest Gwinnett Town Hall on Tuesday, November 29th
The Gwinnett Republican Party is sponsoring the third in a series of town hall meetings with local lawmakers on Tuesday November 29th from 7-8:30 pm. This town hall features legislators from the Norcross, Peachtree Corners and Duluth areas. The Town Hall will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 5575 Peachtree Parkway.
Elected officials expected to attend include State Sen. Fran Millar, State Reps. Brooks Coleman and Tom Rice, Gwinnett Commission Chair Charlotte Nash, Gwinnett District Commissioners Lynette Howard and Shirley Lasseter, and School Board member Mary Kay Murphy.
